Destined to become one of the world’s most visited retail destinations and a landmark instantly identifiable in Lower Manhattan and New York City, Westfield celebrated the Grand Opening of its World Trade Center location on Tuesday, August 16th 2016.
To celebrate this event, multi-Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter, John Legend, performed hit songs such as “Safe Room”, “Green Light” and ended with “All of Me” for the grand finale. The performance was followed by a private dinner at the brand new Eataly NYC Downtown located at Westfield World Trade Center.

Elegantly decorated with “Westfield red” tulips and other unique touches for the celebration, Eataly was a stunning setting for the invited guests— who were serenaded by electronic violinist Dr. Draw— and served a selection of Eataly’s finest dishes, including agnolotti al formaggio di capra con limone and ippoglosso con funghi.
