Arguably the biggest series of fashion events of the year have finally arrived with the start of New York Fashion Week. Aerin Lauder‘s Celebrate the Fashion was held at the Museum of Modern Art to kick off the festivities and while there were some puddles at the event to watch for from spilled wine, it acted more as a representation of the fun being had by all as many well-known names made an appearance.
One name present was Victoria Beckham, whose upcoming makeup collection will be featured by Esteé Lauder and go on sale Sept. 13th. Some of the products from the offering even have a chance to contend to be included in her fashion show being held Sunday morning, with the decision being ultimately made at makeup testing yesterday.
The former Spice Girl turned fashion mogul was joined at the event by plenty of other big names in fashion and pop culture, many of which are affiliated with the Lauder brand and their products in one way or another. Top celebrities like Tommy Hilfiger with his wife Dee, Bobbi Brown, founder of Smashbox Davis Factor and Joan Smalls were all present with guests like Factor taking selfies and soaking in the exciting atmosphere.
Of course, many members of the Lauder family were also present to mingle and welcome everyone. Chairman emeritus Leonard Lauder, executive chairman William Lauder, chairman of Clinique Laboratories Ronald Lauder and founder Aerin were all on hand, with the latter summing up the mutual feeling felt by those in attendance.
” We’re here tonight to celebrate fashion week. Estee always believed in creativity, passion, dedication and excellence and that’s very much why we’re in the garden tonight,” stated Aerin before introducing Ronald, honorary Museum of Modern Art chairman.
“The thing that makes the Museum of Modern Art so special is that since 1929 when it opened up it has a great effect on fashion, starting from it’s early shows,” said Ronald regarding the significance of the venue. The event itself was surely a great introduction into what is expected to be one of the more exciting fashion weeks to date.
