Southampton Hospital’s 57th Annual Party Themed “Fantasia” Raised Over $1.3 Million

Benefit Chair Jean Remmel FitzSimmons, Honorary Chair Howard Lorber,Underwriting Chair Jean Shafiroff, Southampton Hospital President & CEO Robert Chaloner and Southampton Hospital Foundation President Steve Bernsteinwelcomed over 750 supporters to the Southampton Hospital’s 57th Annual Summer Party, themed Fantasia on Saturday, August 1st.  The night raised over $1.3  million to provide critical support for the Jenny & John Paulson Emergency Department.

The festive evening was emceed by Chuck Scarborough and brought out supporters including Martin and Audrey Gruss, Jonathan and Somers Farkas, Peter and Jamee Gregory, Margo and John Catsimatidis, Southampton Village Mayor Mark Epley, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Laura Lofaro Freeman, Dottie Herman, Jay McLaughlin and David Arquette.

This year’s tent was transformed into a black & white masterpiece, right down to the tiled dance floor, by the imagination and creativity of Tony Urrutia.  Guests enjoyed an elegant catered dinner by Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs and music by the Alex Donner Orchestra that kept everyone on their feet.  The night’s live auction included fine jewelry from LJ Cross and House of Murat.

Jean Remmel FitzSimmons told guests in attendance, “I’ve had a wonderful ride with my work for the Hospital.  The last ten years have been so much fun.”  Robert Chaloner thanked everyone for their support and shared his excitement about the partnership with Stony Brook and for the upcoming Capital Campaign, which will be led by Howard Lorber, to build a new Southampton Hospital.  The Southampton Hospital’s Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department, is the sole provider of emergency care on the South Fork, treating more than 25,000 people annually.
