It seems that more than a few notable names have announced their absence from the upcoming New York Fashion Week. The newest among them is Rodarte, who has chosen to relinquish their runway show slot in exchange for a private showing in Paris.
The fashion house announced they will be showing their fall 2017 collection at an undetermined date. Rodarte also added that they will be moving their spring 2018 show to Paris in July as well. The goal is to present the collection as part of Couture Week.
They are also planning to raise the total number of collections shown annually to three. Originally only twice a year, Business of Fashion reported that the new collection will include “lifestyle” items. According to Rodarte’s Laura Mulleavy, it is still likely to debut at a show in New York.
Again, Rodarte isn’t the first to pull away from February’s New York Fashion Week. Tommy Hilfiger, Rachel Comey, Rachel Zoe and Rebecca Minkoff also announced their withdrawal from showing in New York.
