Beauty brand L’Oréal Paris has announced the appointment of a new brand ambassador, becoming their new international spokesperson, according to WWD.
The lucky individual is none other than Elle Fanning, the 19-year-old actress who, like her sister Dakota, has already brought notoriety to her name at such a young age. Many will remember her from her role in the film “Super 8,” which served as the initial platform for the takeoff of her career.
“Excited does not even begin to describe how thrilled I am to be a L’Oréal Paris spokesperson,” said Fanning in a statement. “L’Oréal always strikes the perfect balance between creativity and beauty. Instagram plus L’Oréal – Oh what fun we are going to have!”
Fanning’s hiring is not only representative of her success at such an early age, but also the emphasis on supporting film by L’Oréal Paris. The brand has been the official beauty partner of the Cannes Film Festival, which Elle Fanning is attending this year. She is also starring in two films, “How to Talk to Girls at Parties” by John Cameron Mitchell and “The Beguiled” by Sofia Coppola, which is competing in this year’s festivities.
Pierre Emmanuel Angeloglou, global president at L’Oréal Paris, echoed the brand’s sentiments towards the art of film.
“Elle is a natural choice for the brand, as it highlights our love for beauty and cinema,” he stated. “Indeed, she is the face for the new generation as an accomplished actress, but also an inspiring canvas for makeup artists.”
Other international spokespersons for the brand in the past include Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively and Eva Longoria.
Elle’s first appearance for L’Oréal Paris will be in an advertisement for their Paradise mascara in the near future.
