Millions of girls deal with self-esteem, body image and confidence issues on a regular basis. It’s a difficult mindset to break, especially for those marginalized individuals who struggle every day just to be comfortable in their own skin.
Thus, it is extremely important to promote positive influences for all women as often as we can. Kate Hudson’s activewear brand, Fabletics, has taken this quite seriously with their devotion to empowering women of all ages across the world, doing so through their partnership with United Nations Organization’s Girls Up campaign.
Ascending one step higher, the brand has announced their first ever collaboration with singer Demi Lovato. The two will work on a limited edition capsule collection that will benefit numerous charitable causes for Girls Up including School Cycle, urging upwards of 130 million young girls who aren’t currently in school to get back in the classroom.
“When we first met, I remember being so impressed by how intelligent, accomplished and confident Demi was, even at such a young age. I loved her spirit, her honesty and how she was open to showing vulnerability, because that shows so much strength. She naturally came to mind as I was thinking about creating our first collaboration for Fabletics,” stated the brand’s co-founder, Kate Hudson, who added that, “Demi embodies so many elements of the Fabletics brand in such a unique way; she’s a definitive voice for female empowerment and body positivity – especially for the younger generation – which is something we believe in very strongly at Fabletics.”
The latter statement holds a special meaning for Lovato, who has publicly spoken about her own trials with body image, self-harm, addiction and eating disorders in the past. She will now add to Fabletic’s collective support for the individuals dealing with the same issues.
“I am thrilled to lend my voice to such a powerful brand and organization, both of which represent many of the values I stand for – particularly the importance of empowering girls,” stated Lovato regarding the collection. “Being involved in the creative design process while being able to have a daily impact on young girls’ lives around the world is so rewarding to me, making this initiative very dear to my heart.”
The Demi Lovato For Fabletics limited edition capsule will launch at a private event in Los Angeles, hosted by Kate Hudson, on Wednesday. The initial release will mostly feature tops and leggings with the collection’s full launch offering bras, tops, leggings, jackets and more in August.
Upon it’s release, the collaboration will be available for purchase on Fabletics website as well as their store locations.
