Between both parties, the first collaboration came last year with surprising results. That translates into the upcoming release of the second Gucci x Net-a-Porter collection.
According to WWD, this will be the first male capsule surrounding the partnership to date. It was inspired by “urbanism and self-expression” according to Net-a-Porter managing director, Toby Bateman.
“Our customer has truly embraced the new direction of Gucci under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, and we wanted to reward them with something unique,” stated Bateman, adding that “Given the influence Gucci and Alessandro are having in respect of global trendsetting, it seemed to be a natural next collaboration for us.”
The collection spans 43 items, many of which carry some of Gucci’s classic symbols. Including their skeleton, bee and iconic tiger, there is a lot of variation from shoes, accessories and ready-to-wear. The latter will also dawn an exclusive yellow Gucci logo solely for the capsule as well.
Representatives from Gucci also expressed their interest in creating a follow-up to the first collection launched last May.
“We are pleased to build on the success of our exclusive capsule collection for Net-a-porter last year with a new capsule, this time for Mr Porter,” stated Gucci president and chief executive officer, Marco Bizzarri.
Consumers will have to remain patient until Alessandro Michele’s entire Gucci x Net-a-Porter collaboration arrives on May 18th. Shown across their website, social media and email platforms, items are priced from $200 to $3,350 respectively.
