The Fragrance Foundation Awards Finalist Luncheon was held on April 7th at the Midtown Hilton hosted by Brooke Shields.

The top five finalists for The Fragrance Foundation Awards and winners in Editorial Excellence, Social Media Campaign, and 360-Degree Media Campaign were announced at The Finalists’ Luncheon hosted by award-winning actress, best-selling author and XM Radio host, Brooke Shields in New York City on April 7, 2017.

Victoria’s Secret Angel Jasmine Tookes received the first-ever Face of the Year award presented by Greg Unis, CEO of Victoria’s Secret Beauty. Olivia Palermo was recognized as the Instagrammer of the Year for her influential Instagram account, which has over 4.7 million followers. The award was presented by Michele Promaulayko, Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan and Editorial Director of Seventeen.

Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage awards were handed out in three categories: Article, Online, and Feature. Allure magazine won both the Feature and Article categories for “The Culture of Fragrance” written by Liana Schaffner and “The Nude Review” written by Francis Kurkdjian, respectively. Both stories were completed under the editorial direction of Beauty Director Jenny Bailly. New York Magazine’s The Cut won the Online category for “Hermès’ First Female Perfumer Talks About Breaking Into the Male-Dominated Fragrance World” written by Beauty Director Kathleen Hou.

The award for best Social Media Campaign went to M·A·C Shadescents by MAC Cosmetics. Michael Kors Beauty’s campaign for Michael Kors Wonderlust was voted best 360-Degree Marketing Campaign.

Luncheon attendees voted for the Popular, Prestige and Luxury categories for Fragrance of the Year, adding a competitive edge to the afternoon.

“Every year, the top 5 finalists are announced to much nail biting. Even we at the Foundation don’t know the results, as they go directly to our accountants,” said Elizabeth Musmanno, President of The Fragrance Foundation. “For the first time, we’ve honored a Face of the Year and an Instagrammer of the Year, Jasmine Tookes and Olivia Palermo.”

All of the winners will be celebrated at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on Wednesday, June 14th at Lincoln Center, Alice Tully Hall. The winners for Fragrance of the Year and all other categories will be announced on that night.

The Fragrance Foundation will recognize Marc Puig, Chairman and CEO of PUIG, as this year’s Hall of Fame honoree. Harry Frémont, Master Perfumer at Firmenich, will receive the Lifetime Achievement, Perfumer award.
