“It is an honor to be recognized by The Fragrance Foundation with the Hall of Fame award,” said Marc Puig, Chairman and CEO of Puig. “I share this acknowledgement with the entire Puig family, and all Puig employees, whose dedication to the shared values of passion, people and performance continue to push us ever forward.”
The 2017 Lifetime Achievement, Perfumer is Harry Frémont, Master Perfumer at Firmenich. Frémont arrived in the United States in 1990, the first fine fragrance perfumer to be based at their Creative Center in New York City. Since that time he has played a pivotal role in establishing the company’s reputation in this segment. He is the artist behind a vast number of market fragrances including Calvin Klein’s ckOne, Ralph Lauren Romance, Bath & Body Works’ Japanese Cherry Blossom and Estée Lauder’s Modern Muse.
Inspired by the beauty of nature, Frémont’s interest in high-quality natural ingredients has always inspired his creations; he serves on the committee, which chooses new ingredients for the Firmenich palette, used by all of the company’s perfumers globally. He insists on the importance of taking quiet, private moments to revitalise himself, creating harmony and meaning in an often cacophonous world. Harry believes that creativity is nourished by personal experience, so he tries to absorb everything around him to inform his work. Above all, he places a high value on maintaining close and warm relationships with people.
“Marc Puig is one of the most respected executives working today and Harry Frémont is a living legend in our industry,” said Elizabeth Musmanno, President of The Fragrance Foundation. “We look forward to celebrating them and all of the products and people that give life to fragrance.”
