Launched in January 2015 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, Little Barn Apothecary creates simple and modern apothecary goods from wild-harvested, certified organic ingredients. The luxurious line features soaks, washes, scrubs, oils, balms, candles, and more. Founders Joshua Morgan and Brad Scoggins handcraft each of Little Barn Apothecary’s goods at their studio from hand-select ingredients based on their intoxicating scents and unique healing properties. The effective formulations feature luxurious textures of natural exfoliants, organic butters, cold-pressed plant-based oils, and unique aromas centered on herbaceous, earthy tones. All ingredients are sourced in the U.S. Each product label is made from TerraSkin—a tree-free, water-free material of rock and non-toxic resins that will eventually biodegrade under normal temperature, UV light and moisture conditions. By committing to whole and certified organic ingredients, Little Barn Apothecary creates goods from scratch that are 100% safe, naturally potent, and highly effective. The pure and plant-based, unisex products are available internationally through the brand’s online shop and at over two hundred top spas and shops around the world, including Free People, Alternative Apparel, Gene Juarez Salons and Spas, Bridge and Burn, Anomie, Love Adorned, The Stell, East of the Mississippi, and many more. About LURK. LURK was founded by Anne Nelson Sanford, a perfumer, product development specialist, designer and creative director with a background in beauty marketing, branding and design. The brand compounds each scent using only organic, sustainable, CO2 extracted and wild-crafted oils and hexane-free absolutes to create products of purity and beauty to evoke not only sophistication but a unique sensorial experience. This strict adherence to high standards has yielded groundbreaking luxury-organic fragrances that demonstrate complexity, relevance and depth. About Captain Blankenship. Living with the tides and stars, with the smell of the oceans and forests, is medicine for the body and spirit. Captain Blankenship was born out of Jana Blankenship’s desire to create organic beauty products that create a direct link with nature. Cold pressed organic plant oils, flowers, seaweeds, sea salt and organic essential oils bring us back to the primacy of experience with the land and sea. These ingredients not only conjure the natural world, but are highly beneficial for our skin, body, hair and senses. Our mantra at Captain Blankenship is ‘beauty wild with nature’. We are a small, women-run company in the Hudson River Valley that makes products that are luxurious and honest. We formulate our products with only organic and wild-harvested ingredients that are domestically grown when possible. We never use synthetic preservatives, parabens, sulfates or “fragrance.” We use recyclable and reusable glass packaging, making a positive environmental impact. We test on ourselves and never on animals. We believe in transparency in every aspect of our line. About Mullein and Sparrow. Mullein & Sparrow was founded in 2012 by Anit Hora, a knowledgeable herbalist & trained aesthetician, in Brooklyn, NY.  Using only natural, sustainable, organic & vegan ingredients, Mullein & Sparrow is dedicated to bring you the highest quality natural beauty products. All of our items are loving made in small batches with the hopes of keeping alive a time honored tradition of simple remedies that have worked for centuries.

The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) presents its fourth annual Art de Vivre Award to Carine Roitfeld, Global Fashion Director of Harper’s BAZAAR and co-founder of CR Fashion Book, on Monday, June 12. The evening will commence with a cocktail reception at 7pm in FIAF’s Le Skyroom, and continue at 8pm with a dinner at the elegant French restaurant Le Bilboquet. American model and Estée Lauder ambassador Carolyn Murphy will present the award to the honoree.

Visionary magazine editor, global style icon, muse to the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Tom Ford, Carine Roitfeld is one of the most influential figures in fashion today. Her chic, subversive styling has appeared for decades in the world’s most celebrated magazines and the advertising campaigns of fashion’s most legendary houses. Regularly featured on best-dressed lists, she exemplifies the sensuality and sophistication of Parisian style.

Never shying from controversy, Carine Roitfeld continues to fearlessly push the boundaries of fashion publishing, leading the fashion world into previously unknown territory. In 2008, TIME magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. In 2011, Rizzoli published Irreverent, a retrospective book of Roitfeld’s career. In the fall of 2012, Roitfeld launched CR Fashion Book, a biannual magazine of style and inspiration. She is also the first Global Fashion Director of Harper’s BAZAAR, which publishes her articles simultaneously in 32 global editions to a combined audience of more than 12 million readers.

FIAF president Marie-Monique Steckel said: “Unafraid to challenge taboos, Carine Roitfeld’s influence extends well beyond the realm of fashion. We are so thrilled to honor a woman whose daring, provocative expression of French elegance has become a cultural touchstone, taking the world by storm!”

The 2017 Art de Vivre Award Event Committee includes James G. Brooks, Jr., Markus Maximilian Buchmeier, Cecile and Charles de Lardemelle, Alexandra Kerry and Julien Dobbs-Higginson, Stephanie Binder-Elbaz and Benjamin Elbaz, Shirin and Frederic Fekkai, Martha Flores Longoria and Jérôme Lhote, Agathe Lerolle and Lorenzo Marcelli Flori, Eric Mourlot, Stephanie and Jesse Newhouse, Jordan and Jason Phillips, Marie-Noëlle and John Pierce, Leah Pisar-Haas, Erica Millar and Russell Riccardi, Lauren Santo Domingo, Kristin Simmons, Amelia and Mortimer Singer, Tetyana Pilyukova Tisch and David G. Tisch, Alexandra Vidal and Jose Maria Trullols, Cedric Turk, Marisa and Robin van Bokhorst, Clémence and William von Mueffling, Lisa and David Wolf.

The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) would like to thank Lalique and Maz Zouhairi, President & CEO of Lalique North America, for their very kind and generous donation of one petite Languedoc vase to be presented to the evening’s honoree as her award. Originally designed by René Lalique in 1929, the Languedoc vase takes us to the lands of the Languedoc. Between sea and mountains, this sundrenched region in the South of France offers many landscapes: wide open spaces, shrubland, ancient massifs, and beautiful gorges.

The raw beauty of this land has inspired many artists. Fashioned in satin-finished and re-polished crystal, cactus leaves overlay in a graphic play on repetition.

This year’s Art de Vivre Award is generously sponsored by Hearst.
