    The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) presents its fourth annual Art de Vivre Award to Carine Roitfeld, Global Fashion Director of Harper’s BAZAAR and co-founder of CR Fashion Book, on Monday, June 12. The evening will commence with a cocktail reception at 7pm in FIAF’s Le Skyroom, and continue at 8pm with a dinner at the elegant French restaurant Le Bilboquet. American model and Estée Lauder ambassador Carolyn Murphy will present the award to the honoree. 

    Visionary magazine editor, global style icon, muse to the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Tom Ford, Carine Roitfeld is one of the most influential figures in fashion today.     The French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) would like to thank Lalique and Maz Zouhairi, President & CEO of Lalique North America, for their very kind and generous donation of one petite Languedoc vase to be presented to the evening’s honoree as her award. Originally designed by René Lalique in 1929, the Languedoc vase takes us to the lands of the Languedoc. Between sea and mountains, this sundrenched region in the South of France offers many landscapes: wide open spaces, shrubland, ancient massifs, and beautiful gorges.

    The raw beauty of this land has inspired many artists. Fashioned in satin-finished and re-polished crystal, cactus leaves overlay in a graphic play on repetition.

Very early, on the basis on ethnobotany, LVMH cosmetic brands have investigated natural key ingredients for perfumes & cosmetics. These exceptional ingredients have been very carefully selected, characterized, extracted with advanced processes to bring new experiences to our customers. In order to go further in environmental improvement, a new discipline called biomimicry has changed scientist’s way of thinking. Taking advantage of 3.8 billion years of evolution, nature has developed performing solutions at multiscale level: materials are made of biodegradable compounds, with low energy consumption and performing functionalities. On one end, scientists started to understand the way it works and develop deep understanding and high technologies in order to transpose these functions into cosmetic products. On the other hand, other experts are preserving traditional know-how to develop sustainable and natural key ingredients into bioinspired product for higher quality. These are complementary approaches that LVMH imagines for the future of beauty.
