At Dr. Kassir’s office, plastic surgery is a combination of technique, art and precision. Plastic surgery has been increasing at Dr. Kassir’s office amongst men, women and teenagers. An increase in plastic surgery correlates to the following: information about procedures is more readily available and people are better educated about the choices they have; as the use of social media becomes more popular, people are often inspired by celebrity looks; people are also looking to compete in the job market, and most importantly, technological advances are driving the demand for plastic surgery.
Dr. Kassir believes in customizing treatments for all of his patients, and providing them with both surgical and non-surgical options.
“Our patients are unique- they come from different age groups, ethnic backgrounds and travel from all parts of the world.” As a result, some patients require minimal recovery time as they need to hop back on the plane and go home, or straight to work.
Dr. Kassir’s office offers nonsurgical alternatives to facial rejuvenation, body contouring and vaginal rejuvenation. These procedures require very little to no downtime, and provide long lasting results.
Thanks to Dr. Kassir’s drive to combine technology with art, his office now offers the most cutting-edge technique, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment.
What is PRP?
PRP is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets. As a concentrated source of autologous platelets, PRP contains several different growth factors and other cytokines that can stimulate healing of bone and soft tissue.
How does PRP work?
Blood must first be drawn from the patient. The platelets are separated from other blood cells and their concentration is increased during a process called centrifugation. Then the increased concentration of platelets is combined with the remaining blood.
How does PRP work with cosmetic surgery?
Some may know PRP as the “vampire facelift,” but that is not its only use in cosmetic surgery at Dr. Kassir’s office. PRP stimulates hair growth; rejuvenates the face, neck and hands; restores lost volume; treats acne; and improves scarring, such as acne scars and stretch marks. Since the patient’s own blood is used, there is no risk of allergic reactions, rejection or infection.
How long does the treatment take to perform?
It depends on the area treated, but treatment typically takes from 20 minutes to an hour to perform.
When do results become visible?
This also depends on the area treated, but patients generally notice gradual improvement in the injected area over a 3 to 5 week period, with full correction becoming visible within 4 to 7 weeks.
Also depending on the area treated, results can last anywhere from 18 to 24 months. Individual results vary as daily habits and diet come into play. Dr. Kassir customizes post-care instruction for his patients to help them maintain long lasting results.
