The Dior Resort 2017 Show at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, UK featured Dior’s newest Cruise collection.
The collection can be described as both chic and elegant with its African-inspired prints along with Asian detailing. The exceptional venue, Blenheim Palace, was a perfect spot to display Dior’s new cruise line due to its post-War English design. Designers Serge Ruffieux and Lucie Meier felt the palace was a perfect location for this collection due to its “clash of English eccentricity and French elegance” –Ruffieux. VIP guests traveled on an Orient Express train, which had been revamped by Dior with customized linens and crystal stemware providing a magical experience.
Dior not only provided a remarkable experience, but a two-hour long journey through the brands vision for this collection. The pieces consisted of not only beautiful prints but rich solids as well. Warm oranges, yellows, browns are found in many pieces of the collection as well as light blues and greys. The show featured designs ranging from structured outerwear to flattering long dresses as well.
In this collection, Dior shows how their pieces remain feminine and beautiful while simultaneously having a masculine structure in many of the pieces. Overall, the collection displayed a variety of different looks that gave a modern twist to classical English styles.
