After rumors of a possible exit from the Neiman Marcus Group, we can now confirm the speculation surrounding Joshua Schulman’s future.
In fact, Coach has announced that they have hired the Bergdorf Goodman president to serve as their own brand president and chief executive officer. His last day with the brand will come on May 10th.
“I have been very impressed with the evolution of Coach under Stuart Vevers’s creative direction of Victor Luis’s leadership,” stated Schulman in response to the new role.
Under his new position, Schulman will oversee all aspects of the Coach brand globally. He will report directly to Victor Luis upon officially transitioning into his new title.
“I’ve known Josh for many years and had always hoped to attract him to Coach,” stated Luis. “He lives and breathes our industry and brings a unique blend of brand building and broad retail experience to the company, making him the ideal person for this newly created role.”
Coach also created the position of president of global business development and strategic alliances for their previous president, Ian Bickley.
“Coach Inc. is now better positioned to continue its journey as a global house of brands,” added Luis in a statement. “Ian’s new appointment, together with the addition of Joshua Schulman to our seasoned group of leaders, will enable the company to focus on strategic and long-term growth opportunities across brands and businesses.”
Joshua Schulman’s first day with the Coach brand will come on June 5th.
