At this stage in the game, you can’t go to a Chanel show and not expect Karl Lagerfeld to put some sort of spectacle. And this season was no different as guests were greeted buy a 115 foot space ship situated in the middle of a round runway at the Grand Palais in Pars.
The space themed show had components of streetwear, but with that being said, something to remember is that Chanel is first and foremost a luxury house and Lagerfeld knows how to make a luxury product. The famous house has done streetwear in the past, but they have done it in such a way that other luxury brands cannot compete with. Chanel always keeps true to brand identity and thats why people love the iconic brand so much. It’s always a classic and a staples for any fashionista but they always seem to keep it fresh and new.
The color palette of this season stayed within the space theme with gray and silver with black and purple. Of course other colors were splashed-in keeping the collection of 93 looks as exciting as the last. Trousers cropped at the ankle, chic skirts and signature Chanel jackets rounded out the collection. Bags were also a plenty during the presentation, showing cross bodied as well as muffs and smaller bags at the side. At the end of the show, the rocket blasted off as will this fantastic collection!
