The late Lady Di, as many knew her, had a style all her own. Mixing with a feel from the 1980’s and influenced by many aspects of London fashion, Asos has collaborated with Wah Nails founder Sharmadean Reid to create a capsule collection encompassing the looks from Princess Diana.
The Sharmadean Reid x ASOS collection will feature sweaters, dresses, jeans, outerwear, shirts, suits, shoes and jewelry in a 20-piece set. Most of the collection has a casual-sporty feel, but with a smart undertone that exudes the royalty. One example would be the little black dress that comes with straps lined with pearls, or a red-and-white stripe varsity sweater.
Reid’s influence upon the collection may come as a surprise, though she has had extensive experience in fashion as well.
“I am actually from a fashion background, not a classic nail background,” she stated. “I used to assist Nicola Formichetti and worked as a stylist and consultant. I love the Asos team and they’ve been trying to get me to do a collection for years, but I only wanted to collaborate when I had a good idea. I was never going to make a collection just for the sake of it. I wanted to do something cool. Now was the perfect timing.”
A design director for the Wah brand, Vanessa Spence, added that “The Wah aesthetic speaks directly to our 20-something customer and Sharmadean is the ultimate female creative, we are of course excited to collaborate with her.“With the majority of our collaborations we try and offer our customer something different from the brands usual product mix and this first clothing and accessory collection by Wah x Asos does just that.”
The anticipated collection will be available at a experiential beauty shop in London SoHo next month, as well through the e-retailer’s website, and is priced between $9.70 and $189.
